Colton Berquist, Cross Country

Sophomore Colton Berquist ran in three races in the month of October for the men's cross country team. 

A the FSU Invite, he shattered the school record he broke just two weeks ago by almost an entire minute, with an 8,000-Meter time of 25:37.9. He was the top finisher for the Lakehawks and fourth among NJCAA runners. 

In mid-October, the cross country team traveled to Tampa, Fla. for the USF Cross Country Invite where Berquist led the team once again to an eighth place finsh among NCAA Division I and II teams as well as other NJCAA teams. He posted an 8K time of 26:08.9, placing him third overall in the race and second of NJCAA runners. 

Berquist and the Lakehawks traveled back to Tallahassee, Fla. on Oct. 28 for the Division II FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park. The sophomore eventually posted a third place finish at a time of 26:04.7 earning himself a spot on the All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 Team for finishing within the top-seven.
