Melendez posted a 20th place finish and a new PR at the 2022 NJCAA Division II National Championship.

Caleb Melendez capped off a very impressive freshman season at the 2022 NJCAA Divison II Cross Country National Championship with a 20th place overall finsih and a new personal record (PR) of 26:51.9, 19 seconds faster than his previous PR. He entered the day with the goal of not just setting a new PR but breaking into the 26:00 minute barrier.

Melendez fought the elements well on the hot and humid Florida morning. He was the top-finisher for the Lakehawks as well as the fastest Region 8 runner in the field.
