Bio
Jordyn Anderson is set to begin her first season in 2024-25 as the assistant softball coach at Lake-Sumter State College after finishing her playing career for the Lakehawks.
Anderson, originally from Hilliard, Ohio, arrived at Lake-Sumter in the fall of 2021 as a pitcher and started her career in the circle with a 6-0 record. An injury derailed the remainder of her freshman year, while offseason surgery took away the 2023 season. A redshirt sophomore year gave her an opportunity to rehab her elbow and pick up a bat. Anderson ended up going 4-2 in the circle, but was selected to the All-Sun-Lakes Conference Team after hitting .376 with 35 RBIs on the year.
After the departure of pitching coach, Abbey Primavera to the University of West Georgia, Anderson will take over as the team’s pitching coach amongst other duties as an assistant. She will continue to work on her bachelor’s degree in sports management throughout the year.
Head Coach Jay Miller on Anderson
“Jordyn took a chance coming here all the way from Ohio. Now, three years later, she believes in the program so much that she is taking another chance by staying and committing to help our student-athletes in our program. Jordyn is everything I look for in an assistant and I cannot wait to see the impact she has on our young women.”
