Following the conclusion of her playing career with the Lakehawks, JJ Lott is set to begin her first season as the assistant softball coach at Lake-Sumter State College for the 2024-25 season.

Originally from Lakeland, Fla., Lott arrived at Lake-Sumter in the fall of 2022 as an outfielder after starting her collegiate journey at Columbia International University in 2021. Her softball career took an unexpected turn when an ACL injury required her to redshirt her freshman season. As a redshirt freshman, she played a pivotal role on the 2022-2023 championship team, known for her leadership on and off the field and as one of the program's best teammates.

During the 2023-2024 season, a re-torn meniscus required another surgery, forcing her to miss the season which provided the opportunity to step up as the Team Manager.

Lott transferred to Lander University in the fall of 2024, where a sports management class inspired her to pursue coaching at the collegiate level. She returned to Lake-Sumter in January of 2025 to continue her studies in Strategic Leadership with an emphasis on athletic leadership, while also taking on assistant coaching duties and serving as the Athletics Student Assistant. Upon earning her bachelor’s degree, she plans to pursue a master’s in sports management.
