PREVIEW: Lakehawk Softball Opens Conference Play with FSCJ
LEESBURG, Fla. (Softball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) softball opens the 30-game 2025 conference slate on Friday at home against Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ).
For postseason placement, the Lakehawks will play each conference opponent five times – one three game series and one double header.
This weekend, the Lakehawks will host FSCJ on Friday for a single game at 1:00. On Saturday, the Lakehawks will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for a double header at FSCJ at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
FSCJ finished the 2024 season with a 19-32 overall record and an 11-19 record in Sun-Lakes Conference play. The Manta Rays enter conference play with a current overall record of 6-11.
In 2024, the Lakehawks split both regular season series with FSCJ for a 3-3 record.
Looking ahead this season, the Lakehawks hope to earn a spot to compete in the 2025 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) / Region 8 Division II Softball Championship in May. At this time, the location of the championship is still to be determined.
All Sun-Lakes Conference home games will be streamed at Team 1 Sports: College. Live stream of away games will vary.
