FCSAA Announces 2024 Softball All-Conference/All-Region Awards
TALAHASSEE, Fla. (Softball) – The Florida State College Athletics Association (FSCAA) announced the 2024 All-Sun-Lakes Conference Awards and All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 Softball Awards earlier this week.
The all-Conference and all-Region awards are selected and voted on by the coaches of the six teams within the FCSAA Division II Sun-Lakes Conference.
Six Lakehawks received awards for their regular season performances:
Division II All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8
Payton Parkes, Infield
Emma Chisholm, Outfield
Savannah Ellis, Pitcher
All-Sun-Lakes Conference
Payton Parkes, First Team Infield
Emma Chisholm, First Team Outfield
Savannah Ellis, First Team At Large
Alexis Adams, Second Team Infield
Megan Wright, Second Team Outfield
Jordyn Anderson, Second Team Pitcher
Head Coach Jay Miller celebrated his team's accomplishments while reflecting on the ups and downs of the 2024 season, "When you lose seven starters and three sophomore pitchers, there is a lot left to figure out about a nearly brand-new team."
"They came together and they made it their own. They found their way from a 0-6 start to the season to a 29-21 record for the remainder of the year."
"Many players found themselves in roles they did not start the season with and did whatever was asked of them to help the team. I give them all the credit in the world for making this season their own legacy," said Coach Miller.
These six Lakehawks will use the next week to prepare for the 2024 NJCAA District Championship in Alabaster, Ala. as they continue their pursuit of a trip to the 2024 NJCAA National Championship.
