Lakehawk Softball Blanked by Seminole State

LEESBURG, Fla. (Softball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) softball team fell to Seminole State in a double header on Friday afternoon. After two losses, the Lakehawks moved to 7-5 on the season while Seminole State improved to 11-1.

Game One – Lake-Sumter 0 (7-4), Seminole State 15 (10-1)

Seminole State jumped ahead from the first inning scoring four runs in the first. The Raiders followed with two in the second and nine in the fourth.

Seminole State scoring 15 on 12 hits and two walks. The Lakehawks were no-hit in game one, Bella Baez reached first on a hit by pitch the third and Darian Pippin drew a walk in the fourth to break up the perfect game.

Starting pitcher Pippin recorded the loss for game one moving to 3-1 on the season.

Game Two – Lake-Sumter 0 (7-5), Seminole State 8 (11-1)

Game two began the same as the first. The Raiders led with a six-run lead and added two more in the second before Mia Lovett entered the game in relief for Kaylee Williams on the mound.

The Lakehawks recorded five hits, with Kreighton Steinke going 2-for-2, but were unable to get any runs on the board.

Williams pitched two complete innings and earned the loss allowing eight runs on eight hits. Lovett pitched the final three innings, managing to shut down the Raider offense allowing just two hits and no runs with one strikeout.
