Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College softball team will be combining their annual winter camp with fellow NJCAA institution, Seminole State College in December.
In the past few years, the LSSC coaching staff has offered a winter camp just after the holidays are completed in early January. This year, the Lakehawk staff will combine resources with Seminole State to bring a bigger and better experience to the one-day event.
Saturday, Dec. 3, LSSC and SSC, along with coaches from St. Leo University, the University of Fort Lauderdale and Johnson University will be hosting a college showcase event. The day will consist of two sessions. In the morning, athletes will be graded and given a score on their current skill set based on NCAA Division I metrics. The second session, in the afternoon, will be setup with a showcase model where the athletes can put their skills on display.
The event will take place on the campus of Seminole State College beginning at 9:00 am and the cost will be $165 per athlete. Space will be limited by position to ensure the athletes get through all of the skills testing. Each athlete will take home an assessment sheet with their scores and evaluations from the staff.
