Allende Gil joined the Lake Sumter baseball team as the Hitting Coach in August of 2023. Allende, a native of Orlando, Fla., played high school baseball at Cypress Creek High School and Conrad Academy. After graduating, he moved on to play at Pensacola State College for the 2019-20 season, then Seminole State College for the 2020-21 season.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at Lake-Sumter, Allende spent 2 years at Driveline Baseball in Kent, Washington working with hitters. In 2022, he moved back to Florida where he served as the Hitting Coach at Doctor Phillips High School, working with hitters and infielders, while also serving as the Panthers' 3rd base coach.

This past summer, Allende started a travel baseball organization “Florida Gold Squad”, which helped four high school seniors move on to play college baseball.
