PREVIEW: Lakehawk Baseball Opens Conference Slate with FSCJ
LEESBURG, Fla. (Baseball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) baseball opens the 30-game 2025 conference slate on Friday at home against Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ).
Each series will consist of three games – a single game on Friday followed by a double header on Saturday for the series conclusion. Teams will host three games and go on the road for three.
This weekend, the Lakehawks will host FSCJ on Friday at 1:00 for a single game. On Saturday, the Lakehawks will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for a double header at FSCJ at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
FSCJ finished the 2024 season with a 16-32 overall record and an 8-21 record in Sun-Lakes Conference play. The Manta Rays enter conference play with a current overall record of 9-6.
In 2024, the Lakehawks swept both series against FSCJ in the regular season for a 5-1 record.
Looking ahead this season, the Lakehawks hope to earn a spot to compete in the 2025 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) / Region 8 Division II Baseball Championship in May. At this time, the location of the championship is still to be determined.
All Sun-Lakes Conference home games will be streamed at Team 1 Sports: College. Live stream of away games will vary.
