Lakehawk Baseball Offense Soars Past Eagles
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) baseball traveled to Tallahassee, Fla. on Monday afternoon for a single non-conference game at Tallahassee State College (TSC). The Lakehawks defeated the Eagles for the second time this season by mercy rule, 15-2.
The Lakehawks outhit the Eagles 14 this to seven with five Lakehawks recording multiple hits and three with multiple RBIs.
Edwin Melendez blasted a three-run homerun in the second, for his first round tripper of the season.
Andrew Merchant went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Camden Williamson went 2-for-4 with two RBIS, one walk, and one run scored.
Three Lakehawks saw time on the mound against the Eagles.
Starting pitcher Ty Floyd pitched the first three innings. He allowed one run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Riley Fitzgerald recorded his first win on the mound with 3.0 innings pitched. He allowed just one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
Ethon Tesmer entered the game in the seventh to close out the mercy rule victory.
With a pair of wins over the Falcons, the Lakehawks improve to 8-4 on the season.
