FCSAA Announces 2024 Baseball All-Conference/All-Region Awards

FCSAA Announces 2024 Baseball All-Conference/All-Region Awards

2024 FCSAA Baseball Awards

TALAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – The Florida State College Athletics Association (FSCAA) announced the 2024 All-Sun-Lakes Conference Awards and All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Awards earlier this week.

The all-Conference and all-Region awards are selected and voted on by the coaches of the six teams within the FCSAA Division II Sun-Lakes Conference.

Five Lakehawks received awards for their regular season performances:

Division II All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8

Ryan Jenkins, Infield

All-Sun-Lakes Conference

Ryan Jenkins, First Team Infield

Andrew Merchant, Second Team Outfield

Elvin Figueroa, Second Team Designated Hitter

Robert Tracy, Second Team Pitcher

Region 8 Gold Glove Team

Ryan Jenkins, Short Stop

Andrew Merchant, Right Field

Luke Bentley, Left Field

Head Coach Rich Billings shared his thoughts on his "I am really proud of these five young men.

"They have had a tremendous impact on our program and to be honored as an all-Conference performer in such a competitive conference is a really big deal, not only for them individually, but for our program as well," said Coach Billings.

The Lakehawks concluded the 2024 campaign at Palm Beach State last weekend, so these four players now look to continue their education and collegiate baseball careers at four-year institutions.

In the fall of 2024, Jenkins will attend Carson-Newman College and Tracy will attend Florida Southern College. Both of these institutions are NCAA Division II programs.

Figueroa and Bentley are still in pursuit of their four-year homes and Merchant will return to The Hawks Nest next year as a sophomore.
