TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – Lakehawk baseball's Tyler Toro named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week for their performances in the week of Mar. 18-24. Toro earns this honor for the first time in his career at Lake-Sumter.
Tyler Toro – Pitcher of the Week
Last week, Toro displayed one of his top performances in his time at Lake-Sumter after pitching a complete game against Palm Beach State College.
In seven innings pitched, he tossed a two-hit shutout while allowing only two walks and striking out two Panther batters.
For the season, Toro has a 1-3 record in eight appearances on the mound. In 35.1 innings pitched, he has 34 strikeouts at 8.66 K/9.
Up next for the Lakehawks
Toro and the Lakehawks will continue Sun-Lakes-Conference play this weekend against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Friday and Saturday.
