TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – Sophomore right-handed pitcher Robert Tracy was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the week of Feb. 5-11. In two appearances, Tracy posted a 1-0, 1 save record with a 0.00 earned run average (ERA).
Tracy's first appearance on the mound came against St. Petersburg College. He posted the save after throwing 3.0 scoreless innings to close out the game over the Titans.
On Saturday against Polk State, Tracy recorded the win with 2.2 scoreless, hitless innings pitched. He fanned six with just one walk.
Head Coach Rich Billings shared his thoughts on Tracy's accomplishemnt, "Rob has made huge strides on the mound since last spring. Not only has he learned to get hitters out, but he has been dominant out of the bullpen this spring.
"He is not overpowering, but he knows what his strengths are and always has a game plan to attack each hitter. This honor is extremely well-deserved and we are all very proud of him," said Coach Billings.
For the season, Tracy has thrown 9.2 innings. Tracy has allowed just two earned runs on nine hits and five walks with 13 strikeouts.
Additionally, at the conference level, Tracy is tied at third for strikeouts (13).

Tracy and the Lakehawks will be back in action on Friday afternoon at The Hawks Nest with a single game matchup against Seminole State College at 1:00 p.m.
