Lakehawk Baseball Outhit by Seminole State

SANFORD, Fla. (Baseball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) baseball team traveled to Sanford, Fla. on Monday afternoon for a single game matchup with Seminole State College. LSSC fell to Seminole State 17-3.

Behind 15 hits and eight walks, Seminole State maintained the lead the entire game scoring four in the second inning, one in the third, two in the fourth, and 10 in the bottom of the seventh.

The Lakehawks tried to get a rally going towards the end of the game scoring one in the top of the seventh and two in the bottom of the eighth, but it was not enough to pass the Raiders' early lead.

Levi Anderson, Kendal Spencer, Ryan Monaghan, Nate Tinder, and Luke Bentley each registered the only five hits for the Lakehawks on the day. Hunter Looper, Bentley, and Monaghan each recorded one RBI.

Tyler Toro recorded the loss on the mound moving to 0-2 on the season. Toro pitched 3.2 innings allowing five earned runs on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Lake-Sumter moved to 3-7 on the season, Seminole State improved to 6-5.
