Monaghan Named Region 8 Player of the Week
Ryan Monaghan is the first Lakehawk to earn this honor since 2017
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – Sophomore infielder Ryan Monaghan was named the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday morning. This is Monaghan's first player of the week honor as well as the first for Lakehawk baseball since pitcher Matt Weidenbach was named Pitcher of the Week in February of 2017.

In four games, Monaghan was 9-for-15 batting .600 for the week. He recorded two doubles, four RBIs, four stolen bases, and drew two walks.
Monaghan had three multi-hit games going 3-for-4 against Santa Fe, 3-for-3 against Daytona State, and two-for-4 against Hillsborough Community College.
"Ryan has been one of the hottest hitters in the country the first week of the season. I am very proud of the work that he continues to put in each day that has made him one of the most consistent junior college players in the state of Florida.
He deserves this honor and we are very excited to see what else he accomplishes this spring," said head coach Rich Billings.
Monaghan is currently leading the team in batting average (.522), on-base percentage (.577), slugging percentage (.696), hits (12), doubles (2), and RBIs (5).

Monaghan and the Lakehawks will be home on Wednesday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. for a single-game matchup with Daytona State.
