Kudlinski and Kresak Selected All-Conference
Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College baseball team ended their 2022 season on the road last Wednesday with a 14-6 victory over Santa Fe College. Today, two of their best were selected All-Conference.
Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College baseball team ended their 2022 season on the road last Wednesday with a 14-6 victory over Santa Fe College. Today, two of their best were selected All-Conference.
Tim Kudlinski was named First Team as the designated hitter, while his teammate, Caden Kresak was tabbed as an outfielder on the Second Team. Both players were instrumental in the success of the team's season and their on-field numbers made them two of the best players in the conference.
Kudlinski led the Lakehawk baseball team with 56 hits in 49 games to the tune of a .326 batting average. The sophomore finished 13th in the conference with 40 runs knocked in. Kudlinski totaled 16 extra base hits on the season, including seven home runs. He collected 20 multi-hit ball games throughout 2022 and finished second on the team with 30 runs scored.
Kresak established himself as an everyday starter during his rookie campaign. A part-time pitcher, the left-handed swinging freshman earned All-Conference accolades with the bat hitting .351 over the span of 39 games. Kresak's impressive .524 on-base percentage ranked him second in the state and first in the MFC. The Gainesville, FL native got on base at a ridiculous clip this season with 26 hits, 27 walks and one hit by pitch. He also added 25 runs scored.
Lake-Sumter will be making the move to NJCAA Division II next year and into a conference with St. John's River State College, Florida State College – Jacksonville, Pasco-Hernando State College, South Florida State College and Palm Beach State College.
