Let's take a quick trip down memory lane in 2020. The Lakehawks went into conference play with an 11-10 overall record before ripping off five wins over their next six games, standing atop the MFC standings. Enter a global pandemic that brought the season to a screeching halt.
Back to today, LSSC enters the conference schedule, one game above .500 at 10-9. Naphis Llanos comes in as the leading hitter on the team with a .373 batting average and an on-base percentage above .500 at .537. Alberson Mogollon leads the Lakehawks with 21 runs driven in to go along with nine doubles on the season. Chance Pollard has made his presence felt on the bases with 15 steals, fourth in the state in that category.
Caleb Wood and Seth Wysocki have combined to go 5-0 from the bump in 28.2 innings pitched this season. Wysocki carries a microscopic 1.06 ERA with 15 strikeouts to date.
Lake-Sumter will head to Seminole State College Monday for the series opener. The Raiders come in with a 9-7 overall record. First pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
