Leesburg, Fla. – Jumping out to a quick start, the Lake-Sumter State College baseball team owns a 3-2 record after week one of the season.

The bats were out in force against Southeastern University JV and TNXL Academy. Runs were a plenty as the Lakehawks scored 17 runs on 14 hits during the two games. It took 12 innings for LSSC to knock off Southeastern, 8-7. Mickey Skole went 3 for 6 including two doubles and drove in a run. Chenar Brown and Gabriel Dorsey tallied two hits each and combined to bring around four runs. Josh Plasencia recorded his first win of the season going three innings with Easton Jackson coming in for the save.

Brown kept the bat going against TNXL Academy with a double and a single to his credit. Dorsey added two RBI's to his season total in the 9-0 win. Aaron Perry earned his second victory of the season from the mound and is now 2-0. Six other pitchers threw in the game and combined to throw eight innings, allowing just two hits and striking out nine.
