Williams Tabbed NJCAA All-America

Williams Tabbed NJCAA All-America

Charlotte, NC – Wednesday marked just the second time in the history of the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball program that a player was selected to the All-America Team as announced by the national office.

Xiomara Williams becomes just the second volleyball player to reach the pinnacle of All-America status and the first since Emma Gray in 2018. Williams boasted an excellent sophomore campaign that saw the team break single season records for wins, wins at home and winning percentage on their way to a District Championship and National Tournament berth.

The Orlando native ended the season 25th in kills per set (3.66), 19th in the nation in kills (436) and 8th in service aces (76). Williams' kills and service ace totals from this season were good enough to break both single-season records. One of her biggest statements came in the Gulf District Championship match where she notched a double-double with 23 kills and 13 digs. Williams performance in the match garnered her Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament accolades.
