Tallahassee, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College volleyball team is currently 2-0 and have now added the NJCAA Region 8 DII Setter of the Week to their resume after Kayla Chambliss put up an outstanding performance last week.
A cancellation later in the week, left the Lakehawks with one game on their schedule from August 23-29 and it was a doozy. A five-set masterpiece that was a back and forth battle between two of the top teams in the conference with LSSC and St. John's River State College. Lake-Sumter ended up on top and Chambliss was a big reason for that.
The sophomore setter dished out a season high, 36 assists on the night. It was the 10th time in her career that Chambliss finished the match with more than 35 assists. She also added 12 digs and nine kills while hitting .368 against the Vikings.
