Leesburg, FL - The Lake-Sumter State College softball program will be offering two high school age camps this summer at the Leesburg Campus.
First up will be their annual multi-day summer camp Monday and Tuesday, June 26 and 27.
This instructional camp allows high school aged players one-on-one time with the instructors in a fun and enthusiastic environment. Our goal is to help improve skills of players looking to compete at the collegiate level while identifying possible recruits from the surrounding area.
The cost will be $100 per player. If you come with 5+ players from your team, there will be a discount at $80 per player. Day one will consist of both offensive and defensive skills. Time will be given to each specific position on the field, including slappers.
We will also be offering a recruiting seminar for both players and parents at the end of the first day. The idea is to educate everyone on the recruiting process and answer any questions you may have. This camp is geared toward high school aged softball players that are looking to play at the collegiate level. We will max out at 50 spots for this camp.
Two-Day Camp: Registration Link
The second opportunity will be a hitting clinic, which is in its third summer of existence and is back after popular demand. It will be held on Wednesday, July 19. It will be a two-part clinic with the morning session full of hitting drills with individual instruction by the LSSC coaching staff. The second session will take the athletes inside for a hitting approach/philosophy session delivered by Head Coach, Jay Miller. Athletes are encouraged to bring a note pad and pen/pencil to take notes during the indoor session.
This camp is open to ages 12 and up and geared toward more experience players that are looking to take the next step with their offensive skills. The cost will be $100 per player. If you come with 5+ players from your team, there will be a discount at $80 per player. We will max this camp out at 25 players.
One-Day Hitting Camp: Registration Link
Please fill out the registration and medical waiver form. The medical waiver form must be signed and turned in the first day of camp before you will be admitted in. A set of guidelines will also be emailed out a week before the camp using the latest information from the CDC and state to ensure the safest environment possible.
The camps will take place at Lake-Sumter State College on the Leesburg Campus.
Lake-Sumter has signed more than 30 girls directly from exposure at their camps in the last seven years.
We will host a youth camp in July. Specific dates are TBD.
