JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Softball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) softball team traveled to Jackonville, Fla. Tuesday afternoon for a Sun-Lakes Conference matchup with Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). The Lakehawks took both games of the double header securing their third and fourth wins over the Blue Wave this season.

Game One – Lake-Sumter 7, FSCJ 5

After a five run seventh inning, the Lakehawks' come-from-behind effort secured a game one win over the Blue Wave.

FSCJ took a three-run lead in the bottom of the first after two walks followed by a homerun by Haley Bond. The BlueWave added runs in the fourth and fifth bringing their lead to 5-0.

The Lakehawks had their first hit and crossed the plate for the first time in the top of the sixth inning after Raquel Camuglia hit a double to score Molly Bender from second. Then with Emily Gable on third, Alexis Adams hit a ground ball to the opposite side to score their second run.

In the last chance at bat, the Lakehawks loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh. Bender blasted a double to left field scoring two bringing them within one run of the Blue Wave.

In the top of the fourth, Makenzi Heaton and Alex Baez reached on singles and Desiree Romeo loaded the bases after reaching on an infield error. Then, Bender stepped up with a single up the middle to score Heaton.

With the bases still loaded, Camuglia drew a walk to score the go-ahead run.
