TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Softball) – Sophomore Raquel Camuglia and freshman Kayley Williams wer named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Softball Players of the Week for performance in the week of April 3-9. Camuglia earns her third honor while Williams earns her first.
Raquel Camuglia – Player of the Week
Camuglia, currently on a tear offensively, snagged back-to-back player of the week honors. She hit .500 in four games last week going 6-for-12 with four runs scored, three doubles, three homeruns, and nine RBIs.
Camuglia doubled, homered, and recorded three RBIs in three of the four games last week. Additionally, in game one against St. Johns River State College, she drew two walks.
For the season, the Spring Hill, Fla. native is hitting .412 with a .460 on-base percentage and a .797 slugging percentage. She has 61 hits with 12 doubles, three triples and 13 homeruns with 27 RBIs and 11 walks.
Kayley Williams – Pitcher of the Week
Williams threw a no-hitter against Trinity Baptist College last week to record her first collegiate win. In five innings, she was able to rely on the defense behind her as she had just one strikeout for the game.
For the season, Williams is 1-2 with one save. In 36.1 innings pitched, she has maintained a 4.24 ERA with 16 strikeouts.

Camuglia, Williams and the Lakehawks will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for a Sun-Lakes Conference matchup with Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday, April 18.
