Clermont, Fla. – The U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association have released their second NJCAA DII National Poll.

After opening the season as the No. 14 team in the nation, the women's team has slipped in the polls to No. 18. Kyja Williams Region 8 Runner of the Week performance was the first of its kind in program history, but was not enough to keep their team in the top 15. Cowley Community College (Kan.) retains the top spot in the poll for the third week in a row.

The men's team slid from No. 6 in the first poll to No. 11. Even after William Troupe, Alexander Croy and Adolfo Saucedo Flores finished in the top 15 of all competitors at the Alligator Lake Invitational, the team still fell five spots. LSSC still ranks second in teams from Region 8 behind No. 7, Daytona State College. Cowley CC (Kan.) made it a clean sweep in both polls, moving up from No. 3 to No. 1 this week.

National Polls will be released every two weeks with the third installment coming out Oct. 7.
