USTFCCCA Announces 2024 Track & Field Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS, La. (Track & Field) – The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 USTFCCCA Track & Field Academic Awards. Lakehawk Track & Field was represented in three of the four award categories.
To be considered for academic awards, individual student-athletes must obtain at least a 3.40 grade point average (GPA) during the semester of competition. The Lakehawks had three student-athletes honored from the men's team and five from the women's team.

Women
For the team academic award, the team must obtain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher for consideration.
Lake-Sumter is among a list of just 12 teams from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) to be recognized. Of the 12, they are the only team recognized from Region 8.

Men's Track & Field – 3.14 GPA
Lakehawk Track & Field will begin preparation soon for their second official season in the 2024-25 year.
The indoor season is set to begin in mid-November following the conclusion of the fall cross country season. Outdoor track & field will begin at the conclusion of the indoor season in March of 2025.
More information regarding the track & field teams for the upcoming year will be released later this fall.
