Lakehawk Golf Wraps Up SSC Fall Warmup
ORLANDO, Fla. (Women's Golf) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) women's golf wrapped up their debut tournament at Rio Pinar Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Lakehawks did not finish high in the leaderboard but use the experience to gain valuable knowledge and develop a foundation to build on.
The two-day event presented early challenges, with soggy course conditions and early-season nerves putting the young team to the test. Despite setbacks, the Lakehawks showed steady improvement and determination, gaining confidence as the tournament progressed.
Lillian Dunn and Wies Bouwma tied for score in round one. Dunn was the Lakehawks' lowest scorer improving her round one score by two strokes after round two.
Alexis Westbay scored three strokes lower on day two. Annabelle Roy dropped nine strokes from her round one total.
The Lakehawks look to carry this experience into their next event at the New College of Florida Battle at Black Diamond on Sept. 22-23. Lake-Sumter will compete in a field of golfers from NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA institutions.
