Abbey Primavera enjoyed a solid two-year career as a player at Lake-Sumter State College before joining the staff as the pitching coach in the fall of 2022.

The Spring Hill, Fla. native and Nature Coast Tech Alumnus, was a two-year presence in the circle for the Lakehawks from 2017-2019. Primavera currently ranks fourth in the record books in single-season wins with 11 (2019). The righty now sits tied for third in career wins with 18. She was a member of the record breaking 32-win team of 2018, as she helped the program to their first winning season in almost two decades.

After a short stint at NAIA affiliate, Ave Maria University, Primavera found a new home in the state of New Hampshire. NCAA DII member, Franklin Pierce University welcomed the transfer with open arms. The righty did not disappoint collecting 17 wins in her career, including being the pitcher of record when FPU won their first-ever NCAA Regional Tournament game in 2022.

As her playing career was complete after the 2022 season, Primavera did not miss a beat, joining Coach Miller’s staff as the pitching coach for the 2022-23 school year. Her first year leading the pitching staff was one for the record books as she helped produce two 15+ game winners in Darian Pippin (16) and Ali Shenefield (18). Pippin would go on to be the winningest pitcher in program history and would get the victory in the circle to clinch the team’s first-ever conference championship. Shenefield would eventually be named the FCSAA DII Regional Pitcher of the Year and record the save to clinch the Regional/State Tournament Championship.

Primavera lives in Spring Hill, Fla. with her family.
