Lakehawk Softball Places Nine on NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete List
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Softball) – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2024-25 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete awards. Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) Softball placed nine on a list of over 9,000 student-athletes across all levels.
The Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honor recognizes student-athletes who have obtained a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or higher for the 2024-25 school year.
9,199 collegiate student-athletes were recognized by the NFCA for academic achievement this year. 895 from that list come from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Below is the list of Lakehawk Softball 2024-25 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.
Head Coach Jay Miller shared his thoughts, "We are coming off of one of our most successful academic semesters we have had since I have been the head softball coach. It is a testament to what we believe in our department and is the most important piece of being a student-athlete – emphasis on student-first."
"I am very proud of our team and the commitment they have to their academics. They have conditioning, weightlifting, practice, game days, and several have jobs."
"They never lost sight of their academics. They did the work and they deserve the credit along with their professors and tutors," said Coach Miller.
Lakehawk Softball will begin the fall pre-season when students come back for the fall semester. The 2025 season is set to begin end-of-January.
