Watkins leads Lakehawks After Two Rounds at Seahawk Shootout
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Men's Golf) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) men's golf team opened the fall season at the Seahawk Shootout hosted at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The Lakehawks finished day one in 16th place, just seven strokes behind the next spot.
With an 8:30 a.m. tee time on Monday morning, the Lakehawks registered a round one score +32 as a team. Tripp Watkins logged a +6.
In round two, Watkins came in a +5 to finish at a +11 going into the final round on Tuesday morning in 33rd place.
Individually, the remaining Lakehawks made significant progress between rounds one and two.
Sebastian Gonzalez dropped six strokes for a +4 round two score. He finished the day at +14.
Nate Williams also posted a single digit round two score of +7. Williams will enter the final round at +27.
Kasen Schlichenmaier rounded out the Lakehawks' scorecard with a +10 in round two and a +32 for both rounds.
The Lakehawks will return to the course Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. for the Final Round at PGA National. Below are the tee assignments and pairings:
