Lakehawk Beach Volleyball Drops Conference Match to SCF
TAVARES, Fla. (Beach Volleyball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) beach volleyball returned to Hickory Point on Monday for a Sun-Lakes Conference match with State College of Florida (SCF). The Lakehawks fell to the Manatees for the second time this season, 4-1.
No. 4 pair Braelyn Mittauer and Jayden Ponsford secured the only dual win for the Lakehawks in two sets, 21-17, 21-18.
No. 5 pair Allie Cox and Rylee Martineau fell to the Manatees in three close sets, 16-21, 21-18, 12-15.
Lake-Sumter and SCF were tied up 1-1 going into the 1, 2, and 3 pair duals.
No. 3 pair Berklee Andrews and Cassidy Rountree lost in two sets, 16-21, 15-21.
No. 1 pair Kaylee Hunt and Leanne Blue was the third dual loss, the pair fell to SCF's No. 1 pair 16-21, 9-21.
No. 2s Yarelis Lopez Osorio and Mazi Watson lost in two sets, 8-21, 13-21.
In exhibition play, No. 6 pair Madeline Noel and Cecilia Calton fell to the Manatees in two sets, 13-21, 16-21.
The Lakehawks move to a 4-4 overall record, 3-3 Sun-Lakes Conference record. Lake-Sumter currently ranks third in conference standing.

Lakehawk beach volleyball will host a trimatch on Friday at Hickory Point with Florida State College at Jacksonville at 10:00 a.m. and Sandhills Community College at 2:00 p.m.
