NJCAA Announces 2022-23 NJCAA All-Academic Teams
LSSC placed 18 on the all-academic teams
CHARLOTTE, NC – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced the 2022-23 NJCAA All-Academic Teams on Monday morning. A total of 10,267 student-athletes achieved this honor, Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) had 18 student-athletes are recognized, including four two-time recipients.
Each year, the NJCAA recognizes student-athletes for their dedication in the classroom. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall grade point average (GPA) of a 3.60 of higher for the 2022-23 academic year.
"We have set a precedent of excellence here at Lake-Sumter," said director of athletics, Mike Matulia. "These student-athletes put in the work on the field and in the classroom day in and day out and their hard work continues to pay off."
