TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Volleyball) – Lakehawk volleyball's Kaylee Hunt was named the National Junior College (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Volleyball Player of the Week for performance from Sept. 25 – Oct. 1. Hunt receives this honor for the second time this season.
In three Sun-Lakes Conference matches last week, Hunt averaged 4.0 kills, 4.5 points, 1.9 digs and 0.5 blocks per set in 10 sets played. Additionally, Hunt recorded just 12 hitting errors in 125 total attacks.
The Lakehawks opened the week with a 3-0 win over St. Petersburg on Tuesday. The sophomore outside hitter recorded 14 kills in 31 total attacks for a .452 hitting percentage.
In Thursday's win against Pasco-Hernando State College, Hunt was one dig shy of a double-double with 15 kills and nine digs. Additionally, she recorded one service ace and three blocks against the Bobcats.
On Saturday against State College of Florida, Hunt added 11 kills and six digs.
"It has been incredible watching Kaylee continue to grow as a player. She is one of the hardest workers on the team and it is awesome to see that reflect on the court," said head coach Amanda Phelps.
In Region 8 Division II, Hunt currently ranks in the top-10 for several stat categories. She sits fourth for kills (187), fifth for kills per set (2.92), points (218.5) and points per set (3.4), and sixth for digs (202).

Hunt and the Lakehawks will host Sun-Lakes Conference opponent St. Johns River State College on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6:00 p.m.
