Volleyball Falls to FSCJ Friday Evening

 

Jacksonville, Fla. (Volleyball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) volleyball team fell to Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) 3-2 on Friday evening. The Lakehawks move to 5-7 on the year and 2-4 in conference play.

As a team, LSSC hit .106 for the match while recording 46 kills, 98 digs, five blocks, and nine service aces. Outside hitter Yarelis Lopez Osorio led the Lakehawk offense posting 11 kills and five service aces while adding eight digs. Kaylee Hunt and Taylor Lawrence each added nine kills each.

Defensive specialist Alyssa Guarino was on top of the Lakehawk defense dishing out 24 digs while setter Nadeshly Mojica-Rivera added 21 digs and 28 assists.

The Lakehawks kept the sets close in score only falling short 25-17 in the first and 25-20 in the fourth and took the second set 30-28 and the fourth 25-17. They ultimately fell to the Blue Wave in the fifth set 15-4.
