Pink Night This Wednesday

Pink Night This Wednesday

Leesburg, Fla. – Wednesday will be a special night on the Leesburg Campus with the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball team hosting their annual Pink Night!

Currently, the Lakehawks are 2-3 in Sun-Lakes Conference play and in a three team tie for third place. After a three set loss to Gulf Coast (4-1) over the weekend, LSSC will be looking to get back on track when they start the second round of conference play Wednesday.

In the team's first meeting back on September 11, the Vikings won the match in three straight sets. The Lakehawks had come off a week of not playing outside competition due to hurricane Dorian and were trying to get their feet under them. Since that match, SJRSC has knocked off every team in the conference they have played, sitting at 4-0 with Florida Gateway College on the schedule Monday.

"It is time to turn it on," said acting Head Coach, Nate Camnitz. "We see bits and pieces in every match we play. It's all about consistency at this point and being able to play at the top of our game from the first serve to the last serve in every single set."

Wednesday will also be the program's annual Pink Night. Fans will be encouraged to wear pink in support of the battle against breast cancer. There will be a donation station as well as information on breast cancer awareness.
