Gray Named DII Offensive Player of the Week

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The good news keeps coming for the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball program. Emma Gray has been selected as the Tachikara Division II Offensive Player of the Week as announced Wednesday by the NJCAA office.

Gray, who helped lead her team past No. 10 in the nation, Pasco-Hernando and onto Nationals, was pivotal in Lake-Sumter's success. During the Region 8 Tournament, the Fruitland Park native totaled 41 kills and 29 digs on her way to being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

When the season was on the line, Gray posted a .338 hitting percentage against Pasco-Hernando in the championship game. It was her fourth best hitting percentage on the season. The performance also notched the outside hitters 12th double-double of the year.

Lake-Sumter will play their first game at Nationals against No. 6 seed Lincoln Land CC on Thursday at 9 am. All games will be streamed live via NJCAA.org.
