The Final Journal Entry From Chloe Campbell

The Final Journal Entry From Chloe Campbell

Leesburg, Fla – Saturday was the last day for the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball team in North Carolina. Chloe Campbell offers up her fourth and final journal entry.

"Welcome back! Today marks our last day in North Carolina. We started our morning at 5:30 am by getting up and getting ready for our games. We also had to pack everything up that we took because we would not be going back to the hotel. After that, we headed down the stairs for breakfast.

Once we got to the school we began to warmup and get ready to play. Our first game was bright and early at 8 am against Lansing. We went to four sets with them. Unfortunately, we did not win that match. Our second game was against Spartanburg. This match went the distance going five sets. Both teams played their hearts out, but we didn't come out on top. The game was super close. Even though we didn't win any games today, it still made us a better team by showing us what we need to do better. We cannot look at today as a failure, but as a learning experience.

After the games, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. We all had an amazing dinner and we even got to watch some college football. The big game we all were looking forward to was Florida State vs Miami. Coach Phelps is big time Hurricanes fan! Everyone was talking smack and getting hype. Sadly, we had to leave before the game was over.

The airport was our next destination and we made it just in time. We went through security and all those fun things. After that, we all sat around and did homework until it was time to board the plane. The ride home was smooth and calming. Night flights are always the best! Once we arrived in Florida, Coach Billings and Coach Doug picked us up from the airport. We had a wonderful hour drive to the school. Unlike the trip to the airport a few days ago, everyone was tired and going in and out of sleep. We got back to school very late and everyone said their goodbyes and we headed home.

It was all around a wonderful trip with amazing moments, that made us a better team and I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my journal entries. Hope to see you at an upcoming game!"
