TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Softball) – Freshman outfielder Emma Chisholm was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Division II Softball Player of the Week for her performance in the week of Mar. 25-31.
In three games last week, Chisholm hit .546 with five runs scored, one double, three homeruns, and 11 RBIs.
In game three against South Florida State College (SFSC), Chisholm went 4-for-5 with 10 RBIs. Three of her four hits were homeruns, the third being a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning to secure the Lakehawk win over the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach Jay Miller shared his thoughts about Chisholm's performance last week, "There was a day earlier in the season where I looked at Coach Abbey and said, 'there is going to come a day where she (Chisholm) puts together and hits three or four homeruns in a game.' To say it is one thing, but to see it come to fruition, I was in awe."
"Emma competes every single day to be her best self on the field. We are incredibly happy to see her be successful through all her hard work," said Coach Miller.
For the season, Chisholm maintains a .370 batting average, .395 on-base percentage, and a .692 slugging percentage. She has 54 hits with 11 doubles and 12 homeruns.
Additionally, she has 40 RBIs, 32 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, and three walks.
At the conference level, she is second in runs scored, third for slugging percentage, third for homeruns, fourth for RBIs, sixth for doubles, and seventh for hits.

Chisholm and the Lakehawks will continue Sun-Lakes Conference play against Florida Gateway College on Friday and Saturday.
