Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College softball program will be putting on a Winter Showcase and I.D. Camp Saturday, January 5 beginning at 9:00 am.
Softball players who are currently in high school are encouraged to attend. Several JUCO college coaches will be invited as well as four-year college coaches. The showcase will give the athletes an opportunity to receive instruction from the LSSC coaching staff and current players.
Athletes will begin the day with a camp like atmosphere, spending time at each position they would like to workout at. Once all the defensive stations are completed, the athletes will be timed home to first and end the day with a showcase style workout.
Along with the on field activities, the athletes will have an opportunity to mingle with current Lake-Sumter softball players and have a chance to ask questions of college coaches at the end of camp.
Since Coach Miller and his staff arrived in 2015, the Lakehawks have signed over 10 girls as a direct result of Lake-Sumter's camps and showcases. The program is coming off of their best season in school history with a record setting 32 wins and a trip to the Mid-Florida Conference Tournament.
The cost of the camp will be $75. Five or more athletes from a single team will be given a discounted rate of $65 per player.
