Lakehawk Track & Field Continues to Improve at Florida Collegiate Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Track & Field) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) men's and women's track & field teams marked another significant chapter in their history traveled to Gainesville, Fla. on Saturday to compete in Florida Collegiate Invitational at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center in Gainesville, Fla.

The Lakehawks faced fierce competition competing amoung National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) student-athletes from both Division I and Division II, showcasing their talents and sportsmanship both on and off the track. Nine Lakehawks competed in the meet:

800-Meter:

Assistant Coach Karen La Rosa commented on the team's performance, "The team focused on form and technique over the past week and the hard work paid off as all student-athletes who competed previously not only improved, but also achieved new indoor personal records. This dedication reflects the team's commitment to continuous growth, setting the stage for future successes."

The Lakehawks' momentum is set to continue as they gear up for the Celebration Pointe Classic next weekend. With improved form, technique, and a hunger for success, our student-athletes are ready to take on new challenges and make waves in the upcoming competition.
