GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Track & Field) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Gainesville, Fla. over the weekend to compete in the program's first indoor meet at the RADD Sports College Invitational.

The Lakehawks displayed an impressive first performance competing among National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) student-athletes from both Division I and Division II. Five Lakehawks competed in the meet:

60-Meter

400-Meter

800-Meter

Mile

Head coach Cristy Snellgroves shared her thoughts, "This inaugural indoor race served as learning ground for the team, offering insights into the nuances of indoor racing strategy and pace. Our student-athletes absorbed these lessons with enthusiasm, setting the stage for continuous growth and development.

"As the team reflects on this milstone, anticipation builds for their next venture at Celebration Pointe next weekend. The journey has just begun, and this team is poised for an exciting chapter in indoor track," said Coach Snellgroves.

The Lake-Sumter track & field team will compete three more indoor meets at the Alachua Country Sports & Events Center in January and February. The Lakehawks will then transition to the outdoor track & field season in mid-February competing in eight meets through May.
