Lakehawk Baseball Outhit by Daytona State

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Baseball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) baseball team traveled to Daytona Beach, Fla. to play Daytona State College (DSC) for the second time this season. The Lakehawks fell to the Falcons 12-4 in eight innings.

DSC took the lead in the first inning and maintained it for the remainder of the game. The falcons scored two in the first, four in the second before the Lakehawks scored four between the third and fourth.

The top of the third inning began with an infield single by Carson Russell and a walk by Jacob Delano. Dannon Smith advanced Russell and Delano with a sac bunt and then Russell scored on a wild pitch

With Delano on third, Kendal Spencer singled to right center field. After the third inning, DSC led 7-2.

In the top of the third, Nate Tinder and Matt Tinder led with back-to-back walks.

Luke Bentley placed a sac bunt; the Falcons pitcher threw it away enough for both N. Tinder and M. Tinder to score the third and fourth runs for the Lakehawks.

The game was called in the bottom of the eighth inning due to mercy rule.

LSSC moved to 2-4 while DSC improved to 2-3. Tyler Toro recorded the loss with 1.1 innings pitched, he recorded one strikeout.
