Welsh Added to Baseball Coaching Staff

Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College baseball team is happy to announce the addition of Ryan Welsh to the coaching staff for this year.

Welsh, a native of Windermere, Fla. played college baseball at NCAA DII affiliate, Florida Southern before eventually graduating from the University of Central Florida. He earned a degree in Entertainment Management.

Prior to playing collegiate ball, Welsh played at West Orange High School, earning All-Metro honors as a senior. He was also a member of the Orlando Scorpions Prime team that won back-to-back National Championships in 2013 and 2014.

Since graduating, Welsh has served as an assistant coach (pitching coach) at his Alma Mater, West Orange HS and as a head coach in the DII Florida Collegiate League. He made his collegiate coaching debut with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a volunteer assistant.

Welsh will continue a legacy of Welsh's at LSSC. Ryan Welsh will take the same position his father, Jay Welsh held under Head Coach, Rich Billings and will be the pitching coach.
