St. Augustine, Fla. – Former Lakehawk and current Georgia Southwestern Hurricane, Tucker Smith, has been named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year.

A Lake-Sumter State College graduate, Smith's name has been synonymous with excellence, not only on the ball field, but in the classroom. It is well known that this young man has never missed a day of school in his entire academic career. Smith was the President's Award winner in 2017. He throw over 130 innings for the Lakehawks in two years, collecting five wins and 118 strikeouts.

The tall righty has put up incredible stats during his redshirt junior season at NCAA DII affiliate GSW. In 17 starts, Smith boasts an 9-3 record with a 2.11 ERA to go along with a microscopic 0.92 WHIP. He led the Peach Belt Conference in ERA, innings pitched and finished fourth in strikeouts with 83.
