Three Lakehawks Earn All-Conference Selections

Three Lakehawks Earn All-Conference Selections

Leesburg, Fla. – Three members of the Lake-Sumter State College baseball team were selected to Mid-Florida Conference Teams announced today by the conference.

Robbie Scott – 1st Team

Scott turned in one of the program's best performances in a single season. The sophomore finished the year with the second most hits (80), fourth most total bases (112) and stolen bases (24), while taking over the top spot with 62 runs scored in a single season. His career numbers matched those of some of the all-time greats to come through Lake-Sumter. Scott finished top five in batting average (.362), games started (92), doubles (23) and RBI's (80). He finished second in all-time hits with 137 and was a two-time All-Conference selection.

Steven Beach – 1st Team

Selected as a First Team All-Conference member, Beach had an extremely good freshman campaign. The Polk City native hit .279 with four home runs while driving in 26 RBI's. Seeing the field primarily as a catcher, Beach also spent some time at first base finishing with an almost perfect fielding percentage making just one error in 212 total chances (.995). Behind the plate he threw out 12 runners and was a part of five double plays.

Bryant Heston – 2nd Team

Heston was just what the doctor ordered out of the bullpen in 2019. The freshman hurler was 3-4 with five saves and a 2.55 ERA. His season highlight came against Eastern Florida State when he threw nine innings in relief during a 16 inning contest. Heston threw the equivalent of a complete game out of the bullpen allowing just six hits while striking out three and giving up zero runs.
