Baseball Holds Annual Camp

Leesburg, Fla. – Every spring the Lake-Sumter State College baseball team partners with The Campus Fellowship of Christian Athlete's Club and the Lake County Fellowship of Christian Athlete's group to put on a clinic.

This year, close to 60 local baseball players came to the Hawks Nest on the Lake-Sumter campus. They came to learn more about the game they love and to hear positive words related to baseball and life.

FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference. Established in 1954, FCA has since been challenging coaches at the professional, collegiate, high school, junior high and youth levels to use athletes to impact the world.

"FCA shares a lot of the same intangibles you need to be successful in baseball and in life," said Head Baseball Coach, Rich Billings. "Teamwork, ability to serve, integrity and excellence are all attributes you must possess to be an elite player. We teach those skills using baseball as a medium to be great in life."
