Lakehawk Beach Volleyball Picks Up Conference Win Over Vikings

PALATKA, Fla. (Beach Volleyball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) beach volleyball traveled to Palatka, Fla. for a Sun-Lakes Conference match with St. Johns River State College. The Lakehawks defeated the Vikings 3-2.

No. 4 pair Braelyn Mittauer and Kai Register secured the first dual for the Lakehawks winning in two sets, 21-12, 21-14.

No. 5 pair Allie Cox and Jayden Ponsford fell to the Vikings in two sets, 11-21, 16-21.

Lake-Sumter and SJRSC were tied up 1-1 going into the 1, 2, and 3 pair duals.

No. 3 pair Berklee Andrews and Cassidy Rountree won in two sets, 21-19, 21-15.

No. 2s Yarelis Lopez Osorio and Mazi Watson fell to the Vikings in two sets, 19-21, 12-21.

No. 1 pair Kaylee Hunt and Leanne Blue secured the match for Lake-Sumter defeating the Vikings No. 1 pair in three sets, 21-17, 16-21, 15-12.

In exhibition play, No. 6 pair Rylee Martineau and Cecilia Calton fell to the Vikings 19-21, 18-21.

With Friday's win, the Lakehawks have two victories over SJRSC in regular season conference play. The Lakehawks currently rank third in conference standing with a 3-2 Sun-Lakes Conference record.
