Lakehawk Beach Volleyball Falls to Palm Beach State

TAVARES, Fla. (Beach Volleyball) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) beach volleyball team hosted Palm Beach State College (PBSC) on Friday afternoon for a single match with the Sun-Lakes Conference opponent. The Lakehawks were blanked by the Panthers 5-0.

No. 2 pair Leanne Blue and Cassidy Rountree lost in two sets, 17-21, 14-21.  No. 4 pair Jayden Ponsford and Leslie Catlett also fell to the No. 2 Panther pair in two sets, 16-21, 14-21.

No. 1s and No. 3s played the second round of duals. No. 3 pair Mazi Watson and Kaylin McCann fell in two sets, 5-21, 13-21.

No. 1 pair Alyssa Guarino and Kaylee Hunt took the dual three sets but ultimately fell short as well, 13-21, 22-20, 5-15.  

No. 5 pair Allie Cox and Yarelis Lopez Osorio lost in two sets, 14-21, 16-21.

In exhibition, No. 6 pair Berklee Andrews and Alanis Figueroa won in three sets, 21-19, 11-21, 15-11.

Lakehawk beach volleyball will travel to Lake Worth, Fla. for a tri-match with PBSC and Stevenson University on Sunday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
