John Meier VI is an alumni from Lake Sumter State College from 2006-2009 where he received his AA degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Architectural Landscaping. During his time at Lake-Sumter, he pitched and played outfield for the Lakehawk baseball team. Upon graduating, John moved into a coaching role at his high school alma-mater, Leesburg High School, where he would coach for 7 years at the varsity baseball level.

While coaching, John pursued his turf career by gaining knowledge in Irrigation through Allen’s Landscape and Irrigation Company, all while working for the City of Leesburg Sports and Recreation Department where he acquired eight years of experience. Shorty after his span with the City of Leesburg, he started at Lake-Sumter in 2012 as the Head of Field Maintience for the baseball and softball complex. 

In his off time, John enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife (Jessica) and their two dogs, coaching youth athletes, and woodworking.
