Betsy Billings is the head athletic trainer at Lake-Sumter State College with oversight of both South Lake & Leesburg campuses. August 2024 marked her seventh season with the Lakehawks Athletic Department. Betsy specializes in emergency and follow-up care, management, prevention, and recovery of injured athletes. As the athletic trainer, primarily at the Leesburg site, she covers home events including practices, games, and conditioning sessions. In coordination with physicians and local allied health professionals, Betsy provides an integral link between physician, athlete, and coach.
Betsy Billings moved to Lake County and joined the LSSC Staff in August 2016 after marrying Leesburg local and Head Baseball coach, Rich Billings. Prior to her arrival at LSSC, Billings worked for Orlando Health as an allied sports medicine provider in 2015 and helped to provide care all over Central Florida and spent a majority of her time with the Orlando City Soccer Club Teams and Development Academies to provide optimal care on and off the field. Billings also worked in Boca Raton, Fla. providing care to Florida Atlantic University's softball and women's soccer teams while obtaining a master's in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from July 2013- June 2015.
Billings graduated from Troy University (Troy, AL) in May 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training. She is a board certified, FL licensed health care professional and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
